Frank J. Orzino

Frank Joseph Orzino, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by loving family, on December 4th at the age of 97. Frank was born September 17, 1920 in Ithaca, son of the late Querino Orzino, Sr. and Mary Lam Orzino.
Frank attended Immaculate Conception School and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War ll before being honorably discharged in 1946. He was decorated with many medals, including the World War II Victory Medal and Purple Heart Medal.
Frank later went on to own his own business, Frank's Plumbing and Heating. He enjoyed gardening, bowling, golf, and spending winters in Florida with his wife, Joyce. He loved spending time with his family and visiting with friends.
Frank is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Joyce Newkirk Wright Orzino; brother Querino (Kathleen) Orzino Jr.; sister Louise Sisson; sons Frankie (Karen) Orzino, Bob Wright; daughters Tina (Sue) Orzino, Brenda Orzino, Darlene (Ed) Irving; grandchildren Michael Mahool, Michelle (Ricky) Ciaschi, Alicia Brocard, Kara, Seth and Kristi Johnson, Selena and Bobbie Lynn Wright. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren, but held especially close relationships with Connor Ciaschi and Mariano Mahool. Additionally, he is survived by many nieces and nephews. Frank was predeceased by both parents; brother Tony Orzino; sisters Angelina Pirko, Mary Scaia, Clara Leonardo, and Ann Otto; son Bill Wright.
An hour of calling will be held Friday, December 8, 2017 from 10:30am to 12:00 noon at Bangs Funeral Home. Burial with full Military Honors to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to celebrate Frank's life at the Eagles club in Ithaca until 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Hospicare of Tompkins County
