Frank Leon Dockstader, Jr.

Frank Leon Dockstader, Jr., 78, of Newfield, NY, died Sunday, September 23, 2018. He was born in Ithaca on November 13, 1939, son of the late Frank Dockstader, Sr. and Irma Merriweather Dockstader. He was a graduate of Ithaca High School and was a veteran of the United States Navy. He was retired from Pritchard Automotive where he had worked for many years.

Frank is survived by his wife, of 55 years, Connie Barnard Dockstader; his daughter, Velvet (Daniel) Monroe; his son, Dale (Nicole) Dockstader; his grandchildren, Adam J. Saunders and Brandy (Chris) Saunders-Sewall; great grandchildren, Hunter J. Sewall and Josalynn M. Sewall and honorary granddaughters, Meredith and Elizabeth Rawleigh. He is also survived by his sister in law, Mae Dockstader; brothers in law, Fred Barnard and Harry Kincaid and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Frank was also predeceased by his great granddaughter, Colby Lynn Sewall; brother and sister in law, Ronald and Susan Wittig; brother, William C. Dockstader; sister, Irma E. Kincaid and sister in law, Christine Barnard.

A private burial will be held at the Woodlawn Cemetery, Newfield. In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s memory may be made to The Kidney Foundation or to Hospicare of Tompkins County. www.bangsfuneralhome.com
