Ethelle Lesky (Ginger) died peacefully at Bridges in Ithaca, New York on January 29, 2020, surrounded by loving family members. She had a full and vibrant life during her 98 years. Her loving spirit and marvelous sense of humor will be missed by her family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband David Lesky some years ago.
Ginger
was a devoted mother, grandmother, aunt and friend. She is survived by her three children and their spouses, 6 grandchildren, a great grandson as well as numerous beloved nieces and nephews, and friends. She was a compassionate and loving person who enhanced the life of everyone who knew her. She took great pleasure in visits from her family and many wonderful friends.
She was born in New York City and went to the High School of Fashion Design. Ginger was an artist, skilled in oil painting and ceramics. She enjoyed classical music, attending Boston Symphany Orchestra and Cayuga Chamber Orchestra concerts. She and David traveled the world. She loved gardening and wildlife, and always had a dog or cat in her care; most of whom had been found or rescued. An avid reader; Ginger relished discussing a wide range of books and topics. She had been President of Na’amat in Newton, MA.
The Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, February 2, 2020 at Temple Beth-el, Ithaca. Burial will take place in Sharon, Massachusetts on Monday, February 3, 2020 at 1:30pm.
