Elsie Puhalka, 88, of Ithaca, died Friday May 30, at Beechtree Care Center. Born in Luxemburg, daughter of the late Charles and Anna Godar and widow of Francis Puhalka (1991).
Elsie was a member of Immaculate Conception Church where she was a active member of the Food Pantry and the Christmas Bazaar and was active with several other organizations in the Community.
Survivors include Daughter: Francine (Lealon) White of Mecklenburg, NY, Sons: Jeffrey (Hazel) Puhalka of Spencer, NY and Gulian (MaryAnn) Puhalka of Sparta, Tn.,
Grandchildren: Rhonda Weigand of Danby, Jennifer and Nicholas Puhalka of NJ and Two (2) Great Grandchildren, also Sister: Madeleine Ruppert-Godar of Luxemburg and several Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. In addition to her parents and husband she was Pre-Deceased by Granddaughter: Rhonda Dobson and a Great Granddaughter: Laura Lee Weigand.
Prayer services will be held Wednesday June 4, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Bangs Funeral Home with Fr. Jeffrey Tunnicliff officiating friends may call from 10:00 to 10:30 prior to the service burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Food Pantry of Immaculate Conception Church or Hospicare of Tompkins County.
