Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Shaff

Elizabeth Jane "Betty" Shaff, 81, of Podunk Rd., Trumansburg, died Monday, August 15, 2016 at the Cayuga Medical Center. She was born in Ithaca, daughter of the late Clinton and Maude Howard Poole. She was retired from the Larkin Insurance Agency where she had worked for many years.

Betty was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose world was centered on her family. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, James E. Shaff; her daughters, Diane (Bill Spoon) Ferris and Debbie (Ken) Spencer; her sons, Bill (Elizabeth Desch) Shaff, Dan (Sheila) Shaff and Jim (Kathee) Shaff; her grandchildren, Kimmie Bergen, Amber Ferris, Nathan (Chelse) Shaff, Nicholas (Beth) Shaff, Noel Shaff, Greg Spencer, Shanna Shaff, Ryan Shaff, Christine (Dusty) Hickman, Beverly (Aaron) Woods and Rebecca Howell and her great grandchildren, Trevor Bergen and Mason Shaff. She is also survived by her brother, Howard (Mary Ann) Poole; sisters-in-law, Janet Palmer and Sally Mongold and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her sisters, Cora Oliver and Alice Mazza; brothers, William (Bev) Poole, Ted (Denise) Poole, Claude (Violet) Poole, Harold (Margaret) Poole and Clinton (Esther) Poole, Jr.; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Jessie and John Shaff; brother-in-law, Robert Shaff and sister-in-law, Juanita Cline.

Friends may call on Saturday, August 20, 2016 from 12 noon until 2 pm at the Bangs Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty's memory may be made to the S.P.C.A.
