Elizabeth "Betty" Benedict Leonardo, 87, of Ithaca, died Wednesday, January 27, 2021. She was born in Buffalo, NY, daughter of the late Joseph and Magdelene Benedict and was the widow of Sam J. Leonardo who died March 01, 2015. She was a devoted, longtime communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church.
Betty is survived by her sons, Frank (Belinda) Leonardo and Dan Leonardo; her grandchildren, Lisa, Nicole, Erica, Danny, Emily and Lyndsey and her great grandchildren, Darynn, Troy, Mia, Giovannino, Cesare and Mayson. She is also survived by her Sister, Josephine (John) Churey; her brother, Francis Edward Benedict and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband she was also predeceased by her sister, Mary Anna “Marion” Benedict Perry Schano and her brothers, Joseph Benedict, Jr and Valentine William Benedict.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Augustine Chumo on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at 10 am at the Immaculate Conception Church. The Mass will be live streamed on the Immaculate Conception Church Facebook page. In lieu of flowers donations in Betty's memory may be made to the Immaculate Conception Church, 113 N. Geneva St., Ithaca, NY 14850.
