Ithaca: Elaine Kallet of Ithaca, New York, formerly of New York City and Jerusalem and Raanana, Israel passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Hospicare in Ithaca, New York.
Elaine was a strong, talented and giving woman. She was known as a poet and had many of her poems published. She also wrote short stories. In addition to writing, Elaine was a wonderful artist and painted a huge assortment of oil paintings over the years. Elaine was in the Nurse Cadet Corps and also held different executive positions in New York City and Long Island. She was a tremendous volunteer over her lifetime giving graciously of herself. Elaine is survived by her daughter and son-in-law and her two sons and daughter-in-laws, as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She dearly loved her family, and will be missed.
Arrangements with close family and friends will take place in Valhalla, New York. In lieu of any flowers, donations may be made to Hopsicare and Palliative Care Services of Tompkins County.
