Dorothy Huddle

May 24, 1925 — April 29, 2021

Dorothy M. Huddle passed away on Thursday, April 29, just one month shy of her 96th birthday on May 24.  Dorothy ("Dot") was pre-deceased by her parents, Elsie and Jeremiah DeLano and her in-laws, Jenny and Harry Huddle, by husband Harry ("Sonny") Huddle, brother Harry DeLano (Sarah) and sister Mary House.  She is survived by son Garry Huddle (Gay) and daughter Gayle Huddle, grandchildren Jeffrey Huddle (Sherry), Kasey Huddle Spada (Kyron), Chad Trimm, Hugh Trimm (Kendra), great-grandchildren Marci Huddle, Maddison Huddle and Geoffrey Trimm, nephews and their families.

A life-long resident of Ithaca, Dorothy volunteered at Cayuga Medical Center for almost 20 years after retiring from NCR, and was a past president of the VFW Women's Auxiliary.

After spending a year as a resident of Seneca View Assisted Living Facility in Montour Falls, we could see that Mom had become a favorite of the staff there, which didn't surprise us a bit.

A very funny and feisty lady, Mom always spoke her mind, which sometimes caught us off guard, but always made us laugh, and those memories, along with the unconditional love she had for us all, are what we will always keep with us.

Our family extends a special thank you to Mom's home care-givers, Jessica Schaad and Patti Ksenak, as well as the kind and caring staff at Seneca View.

Calling hours will be from noon-2:00pm, Thursday, May 6, at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 W. Green Street, followed by a private family service conducted by Pastor Ed Enstine from the Danby Community Church, and a private burial, where Mom will be laid to rest next to Dad at the Grove Cemetery in Trumansburg.
