Doris Koconis, 89, of Newfield, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2015. She was born in Poughkeepsie and moved to Chicago at the age of 16. She moved to the Ithaca area with her son in 2000. She was an active member of The First Assembly of God Church.
A loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Doris is survived by her son, Lou Koconis and his fiancée, Barbara Monroe and her grandson, Louie Koconis. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis Koconis who died in 1967.
Funeral services will be celebrated by Pastor John Sotero on Wednesday, May 20, 2015 at 12 noon at the First Assembly of God Church with a reception to follow immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First Assembly of God Church, 197 Bostwick Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850. Arrangements are by the Bangs Funeral Home.
