Doris J. Kellogg Foster Higgins

Doris J. Kellogg Foster Higgins, 76, of Seneca Rd., Trumansburg, passed away on Wednesday, February 04, 2015 at the Cayuga Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Lowville, NY, daughter of the late Floyd and Mary Elizabeth Burr Kellogg and was the widow of Harry Higgins who died in 2003.

Doris had worked as a caregiver in the Ithaca area for over 30 years, both at local nursing homes and also as a home health aide. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and also attended St. James The Apostle Church in Trumansburg.

Doris is survived by her children, Rhonda (David) Higgins, Pat Baker, Claudia Inman and Peggy Coates and her grandchildren, Doris Jane Caskey, Boult (Ronda) Higgins and Richard (Krystal) Higgins. She is also survived by her brother, Frank Kellogg; her sisters, Sheila Gallup and Betty Georski and many great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and great-great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be celebrated by Fr. Jeffrey Tunnicliff on Tuesday, February 10, 2015 at 1 p.m. at the Bangs Funeral Home. Friends may call prior to the service beginning at 12 noon. Burial in Willow Glen Cemetery, Dryden, will be delayed until spring. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Finger Lakes Independence Center, 215 5th St., Ithaca, NY 14850.
