Donna Howard Smith

Donna Lee Smith, 67, of 256 Benjamin Hill Road, Newfield, slipped the surly bonds of this earth Friday February 20, 2015 and is now in the welcoming arms of God
The family sends a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Bael and his staff; Kate, Jo and the entire nursing staff in the infusion lab; also to all the nurses and aides on the 3rd floor Med/Surg of Cayuga Medical Center for all of their loving kindness and care.
Donna is survived by her mother: Mary Howard, husband Jonathan Smith of 48 years, son Paul, daughter Kelly and husband Mark Smith of Greenfield, IL., granddaughters, Megan and Madeline Smith. Donna was predeceased in death by her father Asa Paul Howard (1990) and sister Helen Winters (1994).
Donna was an employee of Cornell University for 29 years. She also was a active member of the Newfield United Methodist Church, and involved in the Community Good Neighbor Fund and the Newfield Covered Bridge Society.
In lieu of flowers please pay-it- forward in her memory or donations can be made to CGNF or the UMC.
Visitation will be Saturday March 7, 2015 at the Newfield United Methodist Church starting at 10:00 AM, followed by a Memorial Service and a Luncheon.
