Diane Schirrmacher, 60, of Groton, passed away Wednesday March 16, 2016 surrounded by her family. She is the daughter of the late Milene Shields and Gerald Williams. She is survived by her husband, Darryl Schirrmacher; daughters, Kimberley and Karey Schirrmacher; brother, Jerry (Ruth) Williams; and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Gary Williams. Her interests included collecting dolls and Wizard of Oz memorabilia, crafts, scrapbooking, and gardening. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and pets. She spent several years volunteering as an advocate for students with disabilities at Groton Central School. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Services will be private at the convenience of the family. In memory of Diane, kindly consider making a donation to the SPCA of Tompkins County.
