Derrick Lee Rogers

Derrick Lee Rogers, 25, of Ithaca, passed away Wednesday, September 2, 2015. Born in Ithaca, he is a son of David and Melanie Ellis Rogers.

A graduate of Ithaca High School, Derrick loved to fish, especially with his Grandpa Buck and golf with his dad and brothers. He forged a bond with the family pets, Turkey, Jet, and Max over the years. But most important he loved his family and his family loved him and will miss him and his ever smiling face, quick wit, and sensitivity.

In addition to his parents, Derrick is survived by his brothers Jeffrey and Thomas Rogers; Grandparents Peter Rogers, Melvin and Aileen Ellis; aunts, Elaina, Melissa, and Pam; uncles, Mel, Mike, Peter, Paul, and Steele; Derrick's fiancée, Emily Straight; and the Bundy Road family. Derrick was predeceased by his grandmother, Donna M. Rogers (2014) and cousin, Cpl. Christopher Bordoni (2012).

A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, September 9 at 11:00 A.M. at the First Assembly of God Church, 197 Bostwick Rd. Ithaca. Rev Matthew Binkewicz will be officiating. Burial will be private in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers send donations to Hospicare. Arrangements are by Bangs Funeral Home.
