Deborah Anne Gesin

Deborah Anne Gesin, age 64, died peacefully at the home of her dear friend Tammi on Thursday April 29,2021, after a long illness. Her last days were eased by the loving care of Tammi and her daughter Brandie, and with the help of Hospice.

Debbie was born in Lubbock, Texas in September 16, 1956 but spent much of her childhood in Danby, NY. She raised her 3 sons in Upstate, NY, mainly in the cities of Auburn and Ithaca. She was always happy to welcome other children into her home over the years and maintained those relationships until the day she died. She was very creative, knitting many beautiful blankets for extended family and friends, renovating furniture, painting houses and even sewing a bridesmaid gown for her niece Shannon’s wedding.

Debbie was preceded in death by her beloved son Michael and her parents Barbara and Frank Barry. She is survived by her sons, Kyle Gesin and Robert Gesin of Trumansburg, NY, her former daughter-in-law Kim Baker, her grandsons, Shane (Rheanna) Gesin and Keegan Gesin, her great grandson Owen Michael Gesin,  her brothers Jason (Sue) Barry of Auburn, NY, Brian (Sandy) Barry of Candor, NY, Jim (Amanda) Barry of Spencer, NY and her sister Sharon Bennett, in addition to her Aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to Hospice of Ithaca. A celebration of her life will be held at the end of June- details pending.
