David Rivers

David Rivers, 43, of Ithaca , NY, died unexpectedly on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at the Cayuga Medical Center.

He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to fish and hunt and was known as one of the best painters in Ithaca. Dave had a heart of gold and was very lovable and creative.

Dave is survived by his mother, Jeanette (Ronald) Roman; his son, David Rivers, Jr. and daughter, Mara Rivers; his brother, Kenneth (Tammy) Bennett and his twin brother, Darryl Rivers and his precious grandson, David Rivers III. He also survived by his longtime companion, Nancy Johnson; several aunts, uncles, including Tommy (Lori) Bennett who was like a brother to him and nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Billy Rivers and sister, Lisa Rivers Swansbrough.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at 2:30 pm at the Bangs Funeral Home. Friends may call prior to the service beginning at 1:30 pm. Burial in Calvary Cemetery will be delayed until spring. Donations in Dave's memory may be made to the American Heart Association.
