David Leon House

David L House, 75 of Newfield, NY passed away September 17, 2015 at Cayuga Medical Center of Ithaca, following a short battle with cancer. He was born March 3, 1940 in Ithaca, NY and was a 1958 graduate of VanEtten Central School. David was a life long member of the Lutheran Church. He was predeased by both parents Wilson House and Selma Matson and brothers William and Raymond House. David is survived by his sister Leona House and his children, Synde Sloughter (Robert), Jeffrey House and Kristy Spaulding. Grandchildren Brandon, Nathan, Adam, Amanda, Jason and Taylor; also his long time loving friend and companion Gloria. David was an avid Hunter, Fisher, woodworker and gardener. He retired from Emerson Power Transmission after 42 years. Graveside services held at Woodlawn Cemetery in Newfield on October 10th at 10am; with a celebration of life, following at St Paul's Lutheran Church of Spencer at noon. In David's memory, donations may be made to Hospicare of Tompkins County.
