Cynthia Mcgrath

Cynthia McGrath, 65, of Ithaca, died Tuesday, September 4, 2012 at the Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester, NY following a brief illness. She was born in Erie, PA, daughter of the late John and Altha Smith Derrick.
Cynthia had worked as a Registered Nurse for nearly 40 years. She enjoyed knitting and outdoor activities and especially loved spending with her family and friends and her beloved Airedale, Frances.
Cynthia is survived by her husband, John McGrath; her daughter and son-in-law, Bridgid and Thomas Cooper and their children, Liam and Mary Aoife; her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Katy McGrath and their children, Kaitlin and Rourke and her sister, Susan Parsons.
The family will receive friends at the Bangs Funeral Home from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, September 8th. Interment in Greensprings Natural Cemetery will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in Cynthia's memory may be made to Hope Lodge, 1120 South Goodman Street, Rochester, NY 14620-2532.
