Craig Crispell Ballard

Craig Crispell Ballard, age 71, of Ithaca, NY passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on January 13, 2023. Craig was born October 17, 1951 in Ithaca, son of the late Jean Crispell Ballard and Donald Wilson Ballard.

Committed to his career as a Senior Construction Inspector in the Ithaca, Elmira, and Binghamton areas, he graduated with Honors from Tompkins Cortland Community College in 1992 with an AAS in Construction Technology. Craig was adventurous in both work and play, travelling west as a young man, and working on various road and bridge development projects from Vermont to Washington D.C. to Puerto Rico. He earned a brown belt in Washin-Ryu karate, loved live concerts, and found peace playing chess, coloring, bird watching, golfing, and walking in nature.

Craig is survived by his admiring son Jeremiah (Rebecca) Ballard, daughter Sierra Paige Ballard, granddaughter Esmay Ballard, beloved sisters Susan Ballard Snyder, and Liza (Deron) Terese Chapman, along with seven nieces and nephews, and several close cousins. His charm sparkled like his blue eyes, he loved his family, spoke highly of his friends, and will be dearly missed by all that knew him.
