Claudia A. Sutton, 65, of Hunt Hill Rd., passed away May 1, 2018 while at home. She was born in Bloomington, IN, daughter of the late James Sutton and Eliza Jane Little. Claudia obtained her PhD in Genetics from Cornell University in 1979 and went on to work there as a researcher for many years until her retirement. She is survived by her daughter, Lydia (Ben) Proulx of Groton; her son, Graham Wetzler of Fort Worth, TX; her sister Tracy Sutton, of Louisville, KY; and two nieces. Claudia was predeceased by her husband Geofrey Wetzler.
In keeping with Claudia's wishes there will be no public services. Donations in her memory may be made to the Tompkins County SPCA or the Finger Lakes Land Trust. Bangs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
