Clara Caveney

Clara Scott Caveney at the age of 97 passed away on March 22,2016 at Oak Hill Manor Nursing Home with family present. She graduated from Watkins Glen High School and was a resident of Ithaca most of her life. Clara retired from National Cash Register Company and enjoyed gardening and canning and watching many kinds of wildlife in her later years. Clara, a loving mother and grandmother, cared about her family and friends and adored her many dogs in her life time.She was the daughter of the late Elton and Ida(Frederick) Scott(Sr.) and was predeceased by her husband, Benjamin K. Caveney. Clara is survived by her children; Carol Lavelle, Kenneth (Jennifer) Caveney,and Douglas(Susan) Caveney and grandchildren; Kevin Lavelle, Brennan (Patty)Lavelle, Lauren(RicK)Villalobos Mark(Kamie)Milne, Travis(Kyla) Caveney,Greg Caveney, Arin and Ben Caveney and several great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews Also, she is survived by sister,Hazel Lackey, brother,Bob Scott(Dorothy),and sister-in-laws, Patty Scott and Eleanor Scott. Clara is predeceased by her brothers; Paul,Carl,Elton Jr.,William,and Leslie.A private graveside service will be held at the convenience of the family. A family gathering will happen at a later date.In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations in Clara's name can be given to Tompkins County SPCA. Bangs Funeral Home will be assisting the family.
