Claire Rickard

Claire Susan Rickard, age 67, of Ithaca, New York died January 24, 2025. She passed peacefully at her home. Claire was born on September 12th 1957 in Ithaca, the daughter of Charles Glenwood Rickard II and Florence Gates Rickard.

Claire lived in the Ithaca area most of her growing up years. She graduated from Ithaca High School, attended Ithaca College and State University of New York at Cortland. She graduated with a BA in English.  Claire was a professional editor as well as a skilled musician. She taught music on several instruments, teaching students of all ages.

Claire was a devoted Christian, living out her faith. It was important to her to feel connected to God, and she invested in that relationship. She was a member of the Asbury Church in Lansing, New York.

To those who knew her, they will remember a kind, generous and thoughtful person who was sensitive to the needs and wants of all those around her. She also respected and enjoyed family traditions, and made sure family gatherings were special. To her family, she was a wonderful person and a good friend.

Claire is survived by her brother David Burke Rickard of Dunedin, Florida and her sister, Jean Leslie Rickard of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. She is also dearly remembered by her extended family and friends.

Services for Claire will be held at 10AM on Saturday, April 19th at Asbury Church, 2978 N Triphammer Rd, Lansing, NY 14882
