Chester R. Schaff, 72, of Ithaca, NY, passed away Thursday, March 4th, 2021 at the Cayuga Medical Center. He was born in Saugerties, NY, son of the late Chester and Edna Koenig Schaff.
Chet had worked at Benson Steele in Saugerties, Dominic Iron Works in Highland, NY and had owned and operated The Mountain Malt and Hop Shop in Lake Katrine and Poughkeepsie prior to becoming disabled in 1999.
A beloved husband, father and grandfather, Chet is survived by his wife, Nancy Davis Schaff; his children, Kevin (Jessica) Shaw and their son, Lucas and Laurene (Gregory) Payton and their daughters, Millie and Kaya. He is also survived by his brother, Raymond (Carol) Schaff; his niece, Carole Jean (Bill) Murphy and nephew, Raymond Schaff, Jr.
No public services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chet’s memory may be to the Salvation Army, 150 N. Albany St., Ithaca, NY 14850 or to the Tompkins County SPCA , 1640 Hanshaw Rd., Ithaca, NY 14850.
