Charlotte E. Murray

Charlotte Dayhart Murray passed in peace, surrounded by family, on January 13, 2015. She was 89 years old.

Born September 7, 1925 to Samuel and Nellie Dayhart, Charlotte was a lifelong Brooktondale resident. She retired from Cornell University, after which she continued to bake, garden and quilt to the delight of her family and friends. After years of hosting holidays and Sunday gatherings in her home, Charlotte's generosity and grace will be greatly missed.

Predeceased by her parents and siblings Romaine, Alice, Virginia and Donald, Charlotte is now reunited with her husband of 68 years, Max, and her eldest grandson Donald Wade Murray.

She was a wonderful mother to William (Jeanette) Murray of Ithaca, Bruce (Jerene) Murray of Brooktondale, and Deborah (Gary) Greene of Spencer. Charlotte held a close relationship and expressed "special love" for each of her 7 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews.

A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, January 19, 2015 at 11:00 at Immaculate Conception Church in Ithaca, where we will celebrate Charlotte's life and everlasting spirit.
