Charlotte A. Bruce, of Ithaca, died on 25 July of complications from Alzheimer’s disease. She was 91 years old. A graduate of the University of Nebraska, Charlotte worked in test kitchens for Hines-Park Foods and for Cornell’s Poultry-Science Department as a product developer. During the 1970s and 1980s, she served as Adult Education Coordinator for TST BOCES. An accomplished cook, she taught advanced cookery courses for Cornell’s Adult University. Later, she was an enthusiastic volunteer for Loaves and Fishes, and for the Family Reading Partnership.
She was predeceased by her husband, Prof. Robert L. Bruce, and by a daughter, Ann Lynn. She is survived by her son, Thomas, and daughter-in-law, Judith Pratt.
A Celebration of her life will be held Sunday October 7, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church. Private family burial services were held July 31, 2018 at the East Lawn Cemetery. Memorial Donations in her name can be made to Loaves and Fishes.
