Charles Herbert Denman

Charles Herbert Denman, age 91 of Ithaca, NY passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024 at home surrounded by his family.

Charles was born January 31, 1933 in Ithaca, NY a son of the late Herbert T. and M. Alta Burt Denman. Charles graduated from Ithaca High School in 1952. He enlisted in the US Army and was honorably discharged as a Corporal in 1955. He was employed at Lakeview Dairy and then the Tompkins County T.B. Sanitarium. He retired from the Tompkins County Hospital in 1995, after working as an Operating Room Orderly for 40 years.

A loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Charles married Dorothy Flint on May 13, 1961 at West Stockholm, NY who survives. Together they have three children, Mary (Robert) Sharkey of Mount Upton, NY, Herbert (April) Denman of Trumansburg, NY and Rebecca (Joshua) Creighton of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren, Amber, Clinton (Makayla), Mitchell, Theodore, Abbey, Caitlin; great grandchildren, Vada, Layla and Eddie; two brothers, Arthur Denman of Ithaca, NY and James (Maureen) Denman of Naples, FL, several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation from 1-2 pm followed by a Funeral service with military honors at 2 pm on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 W. Green St., Ithaca, NY with Rev. Matthew Binkewicz officiating. Burial in Brookton Cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
