Catharina Nebelskyj

Catharina Nebelskyj, 96, of Ithaca, passed away peacefully October 6, 2014 in Ithaca, NY at the Beechtree Care and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on August 23, 1918 in Ukraine, to Petrus and Euphemia Jaworskyj. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Nykola who passsed away in 2005.

She is survived by her three children: Alex Nebelskyj (Carol) of Sedona, AZ; Olga Adamowsky (Michael) of Columbia, SC; and Nicholas Nebelsky (Araceli) of Gilbert, AZ; and two grandchildren, Peter and Mia Adamowsky of Columbia, SC.

In 1991, Catharina and her husband proudly became United States Citizens. She was a long-time communicate of Immaculate Conception Church. She loved to crochet, knit, and needle point and spent hours in her garden. She was an excellent cook and baker.

Visitation is from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, October 10, 2014 at Bangs Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Fr. Jeffrey Tunnicliff on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at 10 am at the Immaculate Conception Church. Burial will immediately follow the ceremony at Calvary Cemetery.
