Carolyn J. (Kimple) Capalongo

Carolyn J. Capalongo, 80 of Lansing NY passed away peacefully on March 24, 2022.

Born on November 19,1941 in Ithaca, NY she was the daughter of parents Burl and Greta ( Sargent) Kimple. Carolyn leaves behind her loving husband John Capalongo, her children Julie (Mike) Reynolds , Amy (Robb) Hamm, Tom (Kimberly) Capalongo, Sara Capalongo, her stepchildren John ( Patty) Capalongo Jr., Jeff (Chrissy) Capalongo , her sister Betsy ( Tony ) DeGregorio and her most prized possessions, her 11 beautiful grandchildren, DJ, Patrick, Nico, Cody, Mason, Bradyn, Parker, AJ, Christopher, Tasha and Dominic.

Carolyn worked at the First National Bank after graduating Ithaca High School in 1959. She then began her life at home as a wife and mother and provided daycare for local friends and families over the course of the years. She worked at Rite Aid Pharmacy in the early 2000’s and after her retirement for Stewart Howe Alumni Foundation in Lansing, NY.

Carolyn was a loving, kind, sweet, angel here on earth to so many. She found her joy in the little things, most importantly, her family, she loved being a mother and grandmother and did it effortlessly with kindness and grace. She was the true matriarch of her family and will be missed beyond measure.

Our family would like to thank everyone for their undying love and support over the past few years most especially our “ Angels on the Inside “ the Unit 3 frontline staff at Cayuga Nursing and Rehabilitation for watching over our most prized possession during the most uncertain of times.

We invite friends and family to calling hours at Bangs Funeral Home, Wednesday March 30, 2022 from 4:00-6:00pm with service to follow.

Private burial will be held on Thursday March 31,2022 at 1:00pm for family and close friends at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
