Carl Joseph Humphrey

Carl Joseph Humphrey, age 73 years old, passed away unexpectedly at Beechtree Center in Ithaca, New York, on Saturday, November 5, 2022.

Born, November 27, 1948, Carl is the oldest son of the late Charles (Ben) d. 2016 and Joyce (Lunden) Humphrey d. 2006.

Carl is survived by Brother Charles B. (Janet) Humphrey II of Essexville, MI; Sisters Carin H. (Robert) Whybrew of Okemos, MI; and Christine J. Humphrey (Rose) of White Lake, MI.  Daughters Jessica Denning of Portland, Oregon; Cari (Danny) Rivas of Temecula, CA; and Son Tyler Humphrey of Temecula, CA.  Grandchildren, MaKenna, Laney, Gwenyth and Caden Rivas.  Former wives, Jennifer Zimmer of Knoxville, TN and Debi Sut of Temecula, CA.  Nephews Gabriel F. (Samantha) Humphrey of Midland, MI; Alexander J. Humphrey of Essexville, MI; Wesley R. Whybrew of Holt, MI; and Wilson H. Whybrew of Holt, MI.

Cousins Rick, Joel, John, Mark, Steven, Kelly, Ann C., Amy, and special friend Christine Lindemann of  Ithaca, NY.

Carl was preceded in death by his Paternal Grandparents Joseph J. and Hilda Humphrey of Bay City, MI and his Maternal Grandparents, Carl R. and Harriet Lunden of Essexville, MI; Aunt Carol C. Lunden of Essexville, MI; Uncle James and Aunt Phyllis Parrent of Essexville, MI; Uncle Donald and Aunt Donna Humphrey of Seabrook Island, SC; Uncle James and Aunt BJ Humphrey of Bay City, MI; and Cousin Scott Shaver of Caro, MI.

The family is indebted to Beechtree for their expert care of Carl – Mary, Valerie, Chris, Noah, Tia, and all of the wonderful staff – you became Carl’s Chosen Family!

Carl was a sweet soul, beloved by his family. As a young man, Carl excelled at tennis and enjoyed showing and teaching his skills on the Courts at the Bay Valley Resort. He loved all sports, (Michigan State Spartans and New York Yankees), and had a passion for antiques.

A Celebration of Life for Carl will take place at Floral Gardens in Bay City, MI at a later date.
