Brian P. Miller

June 6, 1961 — April 15, 2014

Brian Page Miller unexpectedly passed away on Tuesday, April 15th at his home in Newfield, NY. Brian was born on June 6, 1961 in Mansfield, Ohio. Brian loved time spent with his mother, siblings and friends through sporting events and family gatherings. There was no shortage of laughter when the Miller family was together. Brian’s greatest joy was spending time with his wife Stacy and his son Ryan. Brian was the most loving, caring and fun husband and father anyone could ask for. He was always involved playing and teaching Ryan sports. Brian had a true gift that he used to guide and mentor Ryan and many other young athletes he helped to coach throughout the years. He treated them all like they were his sons. Brian graduated from Newfield Central High School. He later served in the United State Navy as a Navy Corpsman, during Desert Storm. He was so proud that his son Ryan followed this same path in the United States Navy as an Air Rescue Swimmer. Brian was trained in the navy in the medical field, so when he returned to Newfield his career path lead him to working with patients. Brian enjoyed helping others, putting them at ease, and making them smile while in his care. He is survived by his wife Stacy (Hurst) Miller and his son Ryan, who was his greatest joy and best friend . His daughter-in-law Jenny Miller, both of San Diego, Ca. His mother Judith (Halloran) Miller of Jacksonville, NY. His brothers: Billy (Toni) of Lyons, NY and their sons Josh & Spencer and daughter Kayla –Wayne (Paula) Miller of Newfield, NY and their sons Evan & Andrew. His sister Kelly (Tom) Kheel of Ludlowville, NY. His sister-in-law Brenda Miller of Newfield, NY and her children Sam and Nicole. His father-in-law and mother-in-law Josephine and Walter Hurst of Danby, NY. Brother-in-law, Junior (Jeanette) Hurst and daughter Jasmine of Elmira, NY. Brian was predeceased by his twin brother, Bruce Miller and his father, William Miller. All of these people including some wonderful aunts and uncles, cousins, friends and great nieces and nephew were the things that mattered most to Brian. Along with some faithful dogs over the years. As per Brian’s wishes there will be no calling hours or services. Contributions can be made to Newfield Recreation Program, c/o Newfield Town Clerk, 166 Main Street, Newfield, NY 14867.
