Brenda June Kumpf passed over to a new life on February 16, 2014 following many difficult
years. Brenda was born on July 18, 1965 to John H. Kumpf and Lorna R. Kumpf (Burch).
Brenda lived life for her God, family and friends. Brenda spent time nurturing her relationship with
Jesus wherever she found her home to be, from the Cornell Plantations as a child, to Texas,
Crete Greece, Baltimore, Rochester and back again to her beloved Ithaca.
Brenda was blessed with a daughter, Carolyn Marie Eggleston on December 2, 1993 who was
and always will be the love of her life. Brenda was a devoted loving mother who undoubtedly put
Carolyn first.
Brenda was a caregiver at heart and spent many years working as a home health aide. Like her
mother, she had a talent for the arts and crafts. She spent many hours exploring her artistic
talent. Brenda used that talent most recently working for the activities department at Beachtree
Care Center in Ithaca. Brenda gave it her all. She was a great story teller, just like her father.
She believed all people were beautiful and deserving of respect even if their physical or mental
health were diminished.
Brenda had a real love for family Genealogy and thanks to her hard work and dedication,
accurate records were established and pictures of her family will survive for generations to
come.
Brenda took her father's lead and followed Cornell Big Red Men's Hockey and gave a hearty Go
Red in Linah rink countless times. Recently she listened faithfully from home and will surely
continue to shout GO BIG RED from Heaven above.
Brenda had a lovely singing voice which is now filling the Universe once again. She is
accompanied by family and friends who passed over before her Maternal
Grandparents Walter
and Ruth Burch, Paternal Grandparents Howard and Ethel Kumpf, Uncle Donald Burch, Aunt
Carolyn Clark (Burch), Aunt Elaine Kumpf, Cousin David Clark, and her beloved and cherished
friends, Carol and Loretta.
This life will not be the same without her smile and warm embrace for those she left behind.
Sorrow fills our hearts, yet our spirits are lifted by memories of our beautiful loving Mother,
Daughter, Sister, Aunt and friend. Brenda is survived by her Father, John H. Kumpf, Mother,
Lorna R. Kumpf (Burch), Daughter, Carolyn Marie Eggleston, Sister, Sheryl D. Kumpf, Nephews,
Michael B. Martinez and Joshua H. Martinez. Brenda is also survived and loved by several
Aunts, Uncles and Cousins who she cherished.
The continuing education and welfare of Brenda's daughter is supported through donations
made to the Brenda Kumpf Memorial Fund ? Tompkins Trust Company, PO Box 460, Ithaca,
