Beverly J. Heatley

Beverly J. Heatley, 89, of Ithaca, NY passed away on June 22, 2023.  She was born on December 26, 1933 in Elmira, NY to the late Thomas Heatley and Elsie (Stadelmaier) Heatley Price.  She was predeceased by her sister Barbara (Bobbie) Mazza and her brother-in-law Albert Mazza.  She is survived by her nieces Susan Mazza and Donna Mazza, and her great nephew Thomas Mazza (Melissa), and her great-great niece and nephew Piper Mazza and William Mazza, and many cousins.

Beverly moved to Ithaca with her family shortly after graduating from Southside High School and began her banking career at the Ithaca Savings bank as a teller.  She worked at each of the banks as they changed hands to Citizen’s Savings bank and then finally M&T bank. She retired from M&T in 1994 and continued to live in Ithaca for the remainder of her life.

Bev loved to read, do crossword puzzles, watch sports on TV and spend time with her family. She was an avid Mets and Bills fan.  She also enjoyed all types of arts and crafts, and was always doing needlepoint, sewing, crocheting, and knitting.  She made many items that are family heirlooms, including ceramics and quilts, and beautifully framed needlepoint and cross-stitch canvases.

She enjoyed attending any event that the family was participating in and was always “game” to travel.

Bev was always happiest spending time with her family.  She was a guiding light to everyone, and always had a positive outlook.  She will be greatly missed.

Family will receive friends on Monday, June 26, 2023 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 W. Green Street, Ithaca, NY.  A funeral service will be held at 1:00pm at the funeral home with a burial will be private in East Lawn Cemetery,
