Betty (Spott) George

Betty George passed away peacefully on June 5th 2024. She was born in 1934 in Ithaca, New York where she remained a lifelong resident. She lived a full life and was grateful for her family and all of her friends. Other than her family and friends Betty loved two things in life. One was visiting her family in Bethany Beach Delaware where she would sit on the beach talk to friends and soak up the sun until it went down. Betty was also an avid Ithaca College football fan where she rarely missed a home game since 1976. She also had a 25 year career at Ithaca College working as the departmental assistant in the TVR department where she met several friends which still remain today.

Betty was preceded by her parents, Ally Spott and Julia Solomon, her husband Alfred “Otsie” George, Sister Mariam Michaels, Brother Phillip “Sonny” Spott, Aunt Minnie Williams (Sany) and
nephew Charles “Chuckie” Michaels. She is survived by her children Sheila McGrath (James) Jeff George (Kelly). Her grandchildren Cade George and Brooklyn George. Cousins, David Solomon, Lorraine Shirley (Dean) and June Solomon. She is also survived by her nieces and nephews including. Marion George (Linda), Gary George (Andrea), Regina George, William George (Nancy) Daniel George. Thomas Michaels (Stehpanie), Julia Rivera (Will), Eva Moses, Abbey Michaels, Lori Achillies (Jerry) and Phillip “Sonny” Spott Jr (Ann). Several other nieces’ and nephews.
