Bertha M. Chaffee Blauvelt, age 100, of 70 Shaffer Rd., Newfield, died June 16, 2017 at her home. She was born in Danby, NY to Alfred and Martha Doane Chaffee.
Bertha graduated from Newfield High School on June 28, 1934 and married Stewart Blauvelt two days later on June 30, 1934. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, her son, Jerry and four siblings. Bertha is survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

I wish to thank my friends for making life so enjoyable but special thanks to the Alton Jackson family, David Everhart, and my faithful cousin, Holly Henry, for their love and care. Friends may call on Friday, June 30, 2017 from 4 to 6 pm at the Bangs Funeral Home. Interment will be held on Saturday, July 01, 2017 at 10 am at Woodlawn Cemetery, Newfield. A memorial service will also be held on Saturday, July 1st at 7 pm at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1201, Danby Rd., Ithaca.
