Barry Valentine

Barry G. Valentine, a dedicated husband, father, papa, and friend, age 62 of Newfield, NY passed away March 28th, 2025. Barry was born in Ithaca NY November 19th, 1962 with his two siblings Gordy (Sherri) Valentine and Carol Valentine to the late James and Elizabeth Valentine. He is survived by his wife Linda Valentine, two children Ian (Brandi) Valentine, Eric (Logan) Valentine, mother in law Alice Blovsky, four grandchildren Mason, Haidyn, Finn, and Tamen Valentine.

Barry married the love of his life Linda in 1984 and they raised their two amazing children, Ian and Eric, in a home filled with love, laughter, and sports. Barry was a hardworking, strong, and loving man that put everyone else’s needs before his own. Barry loved long hikes and lake house getaways with his wife and German Shepard Titan. Barry loved everything to do with athletics, from Cornell hockey and lacrosse games with family to watching his own kids play throughout the years. He loved playing with his grandkids any chance he got and most importantly he loved family gatherings full of laughter and chaos.

4. Calling hours will be held at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 W Green St, Ithaca, NY on Friday April 11th, 2025 from 4:00pm to 6:00pm. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Newfield United Methodist Church on May 10th at 1:00pm. In lieu of flowers we ask that you give your time or donate to the Newfield Kitchen Cupboard at the Newfield United Methodist Church or PO Box 143 as Barry spent every first Wednesday of the month helping those in the Newfield Community.
