ITHACA - Anthony (Tony) E. Spinelli, Jr, age 83, passed away at his home on Sunday, June 21, 2020, in Ithaca, N.Y. He was born in Boston, MA in 1936 to Helen and Anthony E. Spinelli, Sr. He joined the National Guard from 1952 to 1954, joining the Navy and serving from 1954 to 1958; was then transferred to the U.S. Naval Reserve (Inactive) until 1960.
Tony was in the hospitality industry most of his career, serving as Group Sales Manager for the Glenstone Lodge in Gatlinburg, Tn., Director of the Gatlinburg Chamber of Commerce and was the first Director of the Ithaca/Tompkins County Convention & Visitors Bureau.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ann; children Linda, Laura, Anthony and Michael; 11 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and one sister, Helen Gainey.
Private services due to Covid-19 will be held at Bangs Funeral Home with burial following at Sampson Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Romulus, N.Y.
