Anna Maria Muenster, 94, of 1028 Ellis Hollow Road Ithaca, died Monday September 1, 2014 at St. Mary's in Erie, Pa. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Theresia Hoesch Muenster.
Anna Maria moved from Germany to the United States in 1950 and then to Ithaca in 1957 where she was employed at the U.S. Plant, Soil and Nutrition Laboratory at Cornell University as a Biological Lab Technician in Biochemistry.
In addition to her parents she was also predeceased by her brother, Hans Muenster and sister, Margarete Unger. Survivors include her nephews, Hans-Michael Unger, Andreas Unger and Markus Muenster nieces, Utte Muenster and Claudis Unger and her Godchildren, Kathy and Karen Grettler. She is also survived by cousins in Germany, Austria and the United States.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday September 12, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Immaculate Conception church with Fr. Jeffrey Tunnicliff officiating. Friends may call from 9;30 to 10:30 A.M. at Bangs Funeral Home prior to the Mass at Church. Interment will be held in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to either Immaculate Conception Church or Challenge Industries.
