Anna Biskup

Anna Biskup, 76 of West Danby NY passed away November 13, 2018 at Cayuga Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Anna was born in Warsaw Poland and came to the United States from Germany in 1951 with her parents Jozef and Stefania Chmielewski. Anna's name is inscribed on the Wall of Emigrants on Ellis Island.

Anna and her parents settled in Greenpoint Brooklyn NY where she graduated from St Stanislaws Kostka Elementary School in 1956 and then from Immaculate Conception High School in Lodi NJ in 1960. Followed by becoming an American Citizen in the same year. She then went on to graduate from St Joseph's Hospital School of Nursing in Yonkers NY in 1962.

In 1964 she married Stanley Biskup and in 1971 Anna and Stanley along with their 4 children and Anna's parents moved to Ithaca NY. Anna was a stay at home mom until all her children were in school. With her love for nursing she then became employed at Lakeside Nursing Home aka Cayuga Ridge Nursing Home where she spent 34 years. Anna loved all her patients and coworkers.

Anna is survived by her husband of 54 years Stanley Biskup, her brothers Wladyslaw Blaszczak and Kazimierz Blaszczak both of Warsaw Poland. Her children Stephanie(Scott) Penoyer of Camillus NY, Stanley (Lisa) Biskup JR of Ithaca NY, Cathy (Eric) Olds of Media PA and Edward (Lori) Biskup of West Danby NY. Her grandchildren Jeremy Walden, Alex & Alicia Biskup, Jacob & Jessica Olds and Dillon & Luke Biskup along with several relatives in Poland.

Friends may call Friday November 23, 2018 from 4-6pm at Bangs Funeral Home. A prayer service will be held Saturday November 24, 2018 at 10am at Bangs Funeral Home with Father Augustine Chumo officiating. Private burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery in Ithaca NY.

Anna's family would like to thank the 4th Floor Nurses Station at Cayuga Medical Center. No words can express our gratitude for the outstanding and compassionate care that was for provided to Anna.
