Ann Marie (Kero) Armstrong

Ann Marie Kero Armstrong, 90 of Ithaca passed away peacefully on June 16. Born April 9, 1933 in Buffalo, NY daughter of the late John and Mary Kero; predeceased by her husband Donald A. Armstrong (2013) and son Robert A. Armstrong (2012).

Ann grew up in Groton, NY. In high school she was a member of the glee club, band and  a cheerleader. It was there that she met the love of her life Don. They married in 1952 and in his words "they moved to the big city of Ithaca" to raise their 6 children.  They were married for 61 years. She was a homemaker, worked in many Ithaca area doctor's offices and then proudly opened the Armstrong School of Dance with her daughter and lovingly worked there for 17 years. Through Ann's unshakable faith, she volunteered for 30 years through Immaculate Conception Church running the Religious Education program by organizing ICSD buses to take children to faith formation classes weekly from the elementary schools. Ann always put family first. Her greatest joys were watching her children and grandchildren with sports and dance.

Survivors include sister Kathleen Roberts, brother John Kero, sons Richard (Nancy), Donald (Linda), James (Tracy), Steven (Jane), daughter Karen Gorsky (Jeff) and daughter-in-law Joanne Armstrong, 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Ann's family is grateful for the loving care received at Bridges Cornell Heights and Hospice of Ithaca.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Catherine's Church of Siena on Tuesday, June 20 at 11:30, burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call  before the Funeral on Tuesday, June 20 from 10:30-11:30 at Saint Catherine's Church of Siena.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in Ann's memory can be made to Hospice of Ithaca.
