ANGELA JACKMIN

Angela "Angie" Jackmin, 81, of Ithaca, NY, passed away peacefully at Cayuga Medical Center on Sunday, November 11, 2012, surrounded by her beloved family. Angie was the beloved and devoted wife of Lawrence James Jackmin who predeceased her in 1980.

She is survived by her loving children, Kathy Zager and her husband Stephen, of Lansing, NY; Lawrence Jackmin and his wife Robin, of Atlanta, GA; and Mike Jackmin and his wife Cheri, of Berkshire, NY.

The absolute loves of Angie's life were her four granddaughters, with whom she shared a special bond and many treasured moments. As her grandchildren grew and married, Angie also gained close, loving and devoted grandsons whom she also treasured. Her loving granddaughters are Laura Zager and her husband Kieran Downes, of Boston, MA; Melissa Polun and her husband Zach, of Atlanta, GA; Lisa Zager and her boyfriend Korey Fuellhart, of Boston, MA; and Karen Jackmin and her husband Tim Doster, of Washington, D.C. Angie was also blessed with a great-grandson, Preston Lawrence Polun, age 2, with whom she shared a special, loving, and treasured bond.

In addition to her family, Angie's life was made special by her many friends from the Ithaca YMCA and Cornell University Laboratory of Ornithology.

Angie worked for many years at the Cornell University Veterinary College as the Administrative Assistant to the Dean. There, she shared many special friendships and touched the lives of many of the faculty, staff and students.

As Angie wished, there will be no services. Angie requested that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Ithaca YMCA. The family would like to thank the Cayuga Heights Fire Department Rescue Squad, Bangs Ambulance and the doctors and staff of Cayuga Medical Center who provided prompt, supportive and compassionate care.
