Allen E Akers

Allen E. Akers, 81, of 1469 Trumansburg Rd. Ithaca died Saturday December 10, 2016 at home. He was the son of the late Clinton and Esther Akers.

He was a very active member with the Newfield Lions Club where he moved up to a District Governor position. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Anne McGuire Akers; his sons, Clinton (Karen) Akers, Daniel and Bud Akers; his grandchildren, Casey, Alesia, Samantha, Andrew, Jacob, and Christopher; his brothers, Robert, Kenneth, and Ellsworth Akers. and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by his son, Kevin Akers.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday December 14, 2016 at 6:00 PM at Bangs Funeral Home with Rev. Dale Ford officiating. Friends may call from 5:00 to 6:00 PM prior to the service. Burial in Trumbulls Corner Cemetery will be delayed until Spring.
