Alice Echevarria

Alice Echevarria was a loving, selfless mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She left this world on November 23, 2023 at age 74.

Alice was born in Puerto Rico in 1949, the eldest of four children. At age 6, she discovered her passion for cooking and taking care of people. At age 9, she discovered a whole new world when her mother moved the family to NYC. It was in New York where she discovered her passion for singing, taking lessons and recording a demo. But it was her passion for love and family that took precedence over all else as she selflessly put everyone in her family first. She valued being kind to one another, being generous with each other, being respectful, and being there to always help each other. Family was everything to her and her values will live on through her family for generations to come.

She is survived by her four children, Mary (Jeff), Marilyn, Amilcar (Marine), and Ferdinand; her six grandchildren, Akilah, Arianna, Devin, Ferdinand Jr., Jalissa and Jason; her sisters Elba and Rose, her nieces Alexis, Crystal, Darlene, and Rosemary. She is predeceased by her mother, Margarita Gonzalez, her nephew John Galarza, and her brother Sam Echevarria.

A service will be held on Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Bangs Funeral Home and calling hours will be from 11:30am-12:30pm.
