Alan Venooker, 68, of Ithaca, passed away Friday, June 17, 2016 at the Cayuga Medical Center. He was born in Boston, MA, son of the late Aaron and Elizabeth Pickett Venooker.
Alan attended Cornell University and was a graduate of the Wentworth Institute of Technology. He had worked in electronics for Lafayette Radio in both Boston and Ithaca and then worked for Cornell University at Wilson Synchrotron Laboratory for 30 years prior to his retirement.
Alan is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sally Anderson and his daughter, Bethany Diane Venooker. He is also survived by his brother, Jack (Kate) Venooker; his sister, Nancy Messina and his three nieces and two nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, June 21, 2016 at 11 a.m. at the Bangs Funeral Home. with Rabbi Tziona Szajman officiating. In lieu of flowers, donations in Alan's memory may be made to the American Heart Association or the American Kidney Foundation.
