Alan Michael Lyon

Alan Michael Lyon, 53, died unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, February 12, 2013. He was predeceased by his father, Earl. Al is survived by his mother, Louise (Sobol), brother Stephen (Marcia), sisters Michelle Aston (Tim), Melanie Lovelace (Duane), and Marcia Littleton, nieces Jessica, Casey, Jayde and Heaven and nephews Joseph (Val) and Bryce. He has three great nephews along with many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was a life-long resident of Lansing and a graduate of Lansing High School.

Alan proudly served in the US Air Force from 1977 - 1981, after which he was employed at the Cargill salt mine in Lansing and then for 26 years as a skilled worker at Pall Trinity in Cortland.

Al was a warm and generous man, always ready to help his family any way he could. He had a quiet, strong, reassuring presence that his family will dearly miss.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Lansing Fire Department First Response EMS, 80 Ridge Road, Lansing, NY 14882.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 18, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Bangs Funeral Home, 209 Green Street, Ithaca, NY. The family will have a private burial at a later date.
