Charles Robert Hendrickson, Sr.

Charles Robert Hendrickson, Sr., 68, passed away Sunday, September 13, 2015 at the Arnot Ogden Hospital, Elmira, NY. He was born in Ithaca, son of the late Hewlett and Georgia Wood Hendrickson.

Chuck had worked for the Ithaca Housing Authority for many years and had also worked as a laborer and a meat cutter. He was a lover of music, especially oldies and was an accomplished artist and poet.

He is survived by his children, Melissa (Michael) Stooks and Charles (Penny) Hendrickson, Jr and their mother, Wendy Forsythe and his grandchildren, Jocelyn, Joel, Patrick, Amber, Megan, Mariah and Cheyanne. Chuck is also survived by his sister, Delores and brothers, David and Jim and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, cousins and many dear friends. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Wendy Hendrickson; his infant son and siblings, Dick, Marlene, Ray and Jerry.

Friends may call on Thursday, September 17th from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Bangs Funeral Home. Private interment will be held at the Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chuck's memory may be made to the Care First Hospice, 3805 Meads Creek Rd., Painted Post, NY 14870. Melissa and Charles, Jr. will be forever grateful to LuAnn, Claudia and Brenda for the loving care they gave their father during his illness.
